The Camille Conte Show #625 10-23-2020

Roctober birthdays kick off the show this week as we wish a very Happy Birthday to Paul Simon, Bob Weir and Justin Hayward. Cake gives us yet another thing to think about when we're trying to fall asleep. The New Music Spotlight this week features a terrific band out of Cincinnati, Ohio calling themselves, The Heavy Hours and their new song, Don't Walk Away. It's fabulous. So is the new album from Bruce Springsteen, "Letter to You" and the new song I'm loving called, I'll See You In My Dreams. Time for the weekend. Turn it up! Enjoy.

The Camille Conte Show #624 10-16-2020

This week Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen as well as Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood teach us the power of forgiveness and making amends before it's too late. We also honor Johnny Nash who died this week and Tom Petty who would have been 70 on October 20th. In fact, two previously unheard songs from Tom Petty's long anticipated re-issue of his Wildflowers album, "Wildflowers and All the Rest" kick off The New Music Spotlight that includes the powerful new song from Demi Lovato called, Commander in Chief. Cheers to our new listener in London who is helping the show grow in the UK, plus, a bit about this weekend's Women's March and why anger and outrage is the new lady-like.

To wrap it up, The World's Greatest Joke Teller with The Joke of the Week! Enjoy.

The Camille Conte Show #623 - John Lennon’s 80th Birthday Celebration!

Happy 80th Birthday John Lennon! This week's show celebrates the life, music and message of John Lennon with songs from his early days with The Beatles to his 1974 album, "Walls and Bridges" to his return to music in 1980 with the release of "Double Fantasy."  We hear John in his own words talking about his journey from misogynist to feminist along with the words of John and Yoko's photographer, Bob Gruen who I interviewed a few years ago as well as Joe Raiola, the artistic director of the Annual Lennon Tribute which will, for the first time ever, be live streaming to fans across the world all weekend long. I hope I've passed the audition! Enjoy.

The Camille Conte Show #621 9-25-2020

This week's show sees the convergence of the physical death of the Notorious Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the binge watching of "The Last Dance," the story of Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls and the release of the second new Bruce Springsteen song, Ghosts from the forthcoming new E Street Band album, "Letter to You."  Turns out there is a common thread amongst these three pop icons which I reveal as I weave my way through each starting with the remarkable Justice Ginsburg. Better hold on to your rock n roll hat this week, batten down the hatches too because this ship is full speed ahead! Enjoy.

The Camille Conte Show #620 9-18-2020

Suddenly, it's last summer. Wow. It's over already and we pay tribute to these last days of innocence as we get the show going. Personal transformation is the theme for this week's artist inside The New Music Spotlight with Nahko & Medicine for the People's new one, "Take Back Your Power," an 18 song manifesto addressing learning to love yourself. Elle King has her own thoughts on self-love and transformation in her new one, The Let Go and from Santa Monica, the lovely sounds of Cayucas and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah. Plus, my tribute to radio colleague, Len Anderson and Toots Hibbert,  bringing relief to those affected by the fires in Oregon and a much needed gut buster from my mom, The World's Greatest Joke Teller delivering without a doubt one of her best with The Joke of the Week.  Yep. It's SHOWTIME!

Here's that article about Nahko.

The Camille Conte Show #619 9-11-2020

Why on earth would it ever take me four hours to do my show when it only took Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band only FIVE days to record their new album? The 19th Anniversary of 9/11, wildfires, the mystical experience of grace and Springsteen's sage advice to the students of Boston College had everything to do with it. Plus the E Street Band's 20th studio album is coming out October 23rd and the new single and title track, "Letter to You" is featured inside The New Music Spotlight sponsored by Patron Jill Robinson! You just never know. Enjoy.

The Camille Conte Show #618 8-28-2020

A new fan and a satisfied listener share their love of the show as I pull back the curtain on my experience going through my parent's home as I prepare for departure. Where to? We go to Canada for this week's The New Music Spotlight brought to you by patron, Glenn Curtis! First up is the award winning Canadian songwriter, Bahamas' new song, Own Alone from his forthcoming album, "Sad Hunk" and out of Montreal a new band for the show, Busty and the Bass and a fab new tune featuring Macy Gray on vocals entitled, Out of Love. We start things off though with the boys in the band before we let the women speak. Everyone's got a lot to say this week. Enjoy.
